Porsche 997 lives on with GT3 Cup version

Porsche is ready to launch its all-new 911, code-named 991, at the Frankfurt Motor Show. That means that the former model, the 997, will immediately be rendered obsolete, right?

Well, yes and no. The production version will, of course, be replaced by the 991. But Porsche has decided to keep the world’s most popular car for customer racers all around the world, the 911 GT3 Cup, based on the 997 until at least 2013.

New Suzuki Swift Sport gets 135HP

This is the first picture of the all-new Suzuki Swift Sport. The model, which will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month, practically bears no differences to the S-Concept that was presented in Geneva last March.


Under the hood of the Swift Sport is a specially-developed for this model 1.6-liter M16A with 135HP at 6,900 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. A new six-speed manual gearbox transmits power to the front wheels.

Saab plans new 9-3, ponders different name

Despite its financial problems, which still haven't been resolved, Saab remains optimistic and is planning for the future. The first model it will introduce will be, as Automotive News reports, the all-new 9-3 which will replace the aged luxury mid-size sedan.

Frankfurt Show: Hyundai to present new i30

The i30 has been the odd-one out in Hyundai’s range. The Korean company’s C-segment contender may have been keenly priced and with decent driving dynamics, but its styling looked old-fashioned next to its newest siblings. Now Hyundai plans to correct this by unveiling the second generation of the i30 at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
