Mazda unveils new CX-5 crossover

Last March, Mazda presented in the Geneva Motor Show the Minagi, a concept for a mid-size crossover. Now it has unveiled its production version, the CX-5, which will make its world premiere Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

The CX-5 is the first Mazda’s models that adopt the “KODO – Soul of Motion” design philosophy that was previewd in the Minagi and Shinari concepts. This design theme’s main elements are the prominent front fascia and more dynamic bodywork styling.

The new mid-size crossover is also the first Mazda model to be available only with SKYACTIV technology engines, both in petrol and diesel versions. In Europe, Mazda’s new SUV will, as the company announced, be available with either the SKYACTIV-G gasoline 2.0-liter engine or the SKYACTIV-D 2.2-liter diesel.
